If you are not already aware, I am an author. My book “I Don’t Hate Me Anymore” is being published by Austin Macauley in London and is on its final proofs with the editor. So, within the next six weeks, I have been informed, I should have the final proof to go over. And if there are no further changes needed, then it will be off to print. My mentor, Andrew Jobling, assures me that it is pretty quick from there.
I think I just heard a little squeal sneak out!
Not surprisingly, I am a little anxious and excited all at the same time! This is my first book and I can’t wait for everyone to read it! I know that it will impact people, particularly women, so much so that they won’t be able to stay where they are any longer.
Once you can see it, you can’t unsee it.
“I Don’t Hate Me Anymore” is not your average autobiography or self-help book. It is an interactive journey for the reader into loving themselves. As a survivor of domestic violence x4, plus other horrible things, I want to be able to help at least one person reduce, if not eliminate, the abuse in their life.
We have more control than we are led to believe and I want to give that strength back to the reader. “I Don’t Hate Me Anymore” is aimed particularly at women, but abuse is not solely a woman only domain. Abuse comes in so many different forms other than just the obvious or by common perception.
For this journey to begin, I had to break down the process which took me so long to learn, and lay it out in some sort of logical order so that it was as simple as it could be. Loving yourself is a simple concept but there is so much to it that it can be overwhelming. Using my experiences to point to the topic of the chapter, it is not an A-Z of my life. Why we end up where we are is not a straightforward path so “I Don’t Hate Me Anymore” couldn’t be a straightforward autobiography. Each chapter is designed to encourage the reader to participate with their own experience in order to find out more about themselves and discover their own whys.
The cover, size and length have been deliberate. I wanted it to be small and light enough to throw in a bag but look like a novel so that it wasn’t obvious at first glance to anyone that it is a self-help book.
“I Don’t Hate Me Anymore” can be taken as a good read and inspirational story, or used like a journal of healing which the reader can come back to again and again. But I also truly believe in another purpose for my book – being used in conjunction with counselling and other forms of treatment. Well, if you’re like me, you’re already talking to someone for the very reasons my book was written – how did I end up here and how can I change it? By working with a professional, you have that extra support and peace of mind that if anything triggering or tough comes up, a qualified person is there to help.
This June past, I bought the domain www.allisonroseclark.com.au and it has been sitting there idle ever since. On the weekend, I had it diverted to my WordPress blog here, allisonroseclark.wordpress.com.
However, last night I realised that it wasn’t very good to have “tigerflyenergy” in the WordPress address, and that it should reflect my bought domain otherwise people will be confused if they type in the site address and it diverts to “tigerflyenergy”. They might think there is a glitch or something and drop the search completely. That’s simply not a scenario I want anyone to experience.
Looking into it, I discovered I can indeed change “tigerflyenergy” to “allisonroseclark” in the address. What this does is gives me a couple of options – one of which is to transfer all to the new address and keep the original as blank, or transfer all to the new and delete the original altogether. Once I do it, I can’t go back to “tigerflyenergy”.
Originally, I started this web page as something to do but wasn’t really serious about it. Then as my book was written, has progressed and is actually getting published now, I have been more deliberate and regular with my blogging this year. My following has steadily grown over this time, so with this coming to my attention that I should have done this in the first place, it scared me. I don’t want to lose them because my mind didn’t actually think my blog would amount to anything or that I would get my book published!
How can I let them know what is going on?
Then the dawning of truth…… da da da!
Blog it of course!
Now, why didn’t I think of that?
During this coming weekend, I am going to make the changes to my WordPress blog which need to be done so it can easily be found by future Google-ers and fans.
So, assuming you want to continue to follow me and enjoy my interesting and entertaining writings, if I am able to message you, I will endeavour to do that by Sunday night with the new link. If not, then next Thursday, type www.allisonroseclark.com.au in the address bar and it should direct you to my blog. Alternatively, if I don’t have your email address and you would like me to email you the link when it is done, please message me at email@example.com so I can do that by Sunday night.
All the people I am currently following will continue to have me as an avid stalker, reading their blogs as they post them mmmwwaahh!!!
I am expecting big things from “I Don’t Hate Me Anymore” because changing lives is a big thing to do. So, please stay with me and keep tuned-in for the release date and eventual book launch of “I Don’t Hate Me Anymore”.
You’ll be glad you did!
